Sub Needed - Denver Funk/Rock Band

I am having a little trouble keeping up with my band's performance schedule, so I thought I would check around for sub player possibilities.

The band is Fina Dupa (links in my sig below). We play a funk-rock-jazz mix that has a slight jam sensibility. The current song mix favors covers to originals at about a 65:35 ratio. The band is not formally jazz educated but operates with a reasonable sense of theory and communicates in the musical vernacular for the most part.

Gigs are in Denver and the front range, and the ones I would seek a sub for would generally be bar/restaurant gigs. Some of our regular haunts include Redfish Brewhouse in Boulder, Herb's in Denver, 1515 Market in Denver, and the Hornet in Denver. Mostly weekends, occasional Thursdays. They generally pay $50 to $80 per player. I envision one to three sub gigs every couple months.

Regrettably this band does not maintain a book, so you would need to learn the tunes from recordings. I would be agreeable to joining you at a few rehearsals where we could rotate through the tunes with the other guys. Rehearsals are Thursdays at 8.

But first - if you are interested, please email me at will_greer@comcast.net with your playing backgound, current or recent performance experience, and playing samples.

Thanks for your interest.

Wish I was around...that sounds like a blast! And you already know pretty much who I sound like!
