I've got to go away for a while, back over to Europe, so I need to find a stand-in for two gigs that are coming up in September (5th and 19th). Both are outdoor festival-type shows, and both will be paid gigs. Not 100% sure I will be able to re-commit to the band when I get back, so may possibly lead to a more permanent situation.
The music - a mix of 80s-style hard rock and more contemporary metal, all originals. Bass parts aren't hugely complicated (the guitarist is a shredmeister, so I try to stay out of his way), but will require some varied technique (pick/fingers/slap) and probably a 5-string. Own gear and transport required, aged 25-45. Rehearsals are in Rockaway. The gig on the 5th is optional (unless you can be confident of learning 8 songs in less than 2 weeks), but the one on the 19th is a big one and must be done. We've got a professional CD with 3 of the tunes, and can do a CD of the other tunes from a rehearsal recording.
