you must be serious, as he's aiming to gig full time. must have reliable pro-quality gear (no, that doesn't mean "Fender and Ampeg only"). play what you like, just make sure it can make the grade and doesn't need pampering.
must look and act the part. (if you can't figure out what that looks like, i'm not going to tell you)
