1987 Alembic Pursuader?

Sign in to disble this ad
My son who is 16 has been playing the bass for about 2 years. He seems very talented, he has regular gigs with a jaz and blues band (with people much older), plays the double bass first chair in his high school Chamber Music Class. He is up on his jazz, can sight read and is first in his class in a college level Music Theory class.
He would like a significant upgrade from the basses he currently owns (Highway 1 Fender Jazz, Cort Curbow fretless and an Epiphone Thunderbird). We recently saw an 1987 Alembic Pursuader that seemed in excellent condition. He tells me it has increible tone a fast neck (and it doesn't hurt that Stanley Clarke has played Alembic throughout his career). The price for the bass is $1300. I wonder if you have any experience with this particular bass (sorry for being so long winded.

I'm afraid I'm really not a gear guy. I don't know anything about alembic basses at all.

There are many people on this forum in the gear sections that can help you way better than I can.

Easy,

Janek
