I was just interested how he made the bass seem to sit in a smaller 'sonic space' than most other bassists in a similar genre, yet it's still always really well defined, both live and on tape. I wondered if maybe he used a less full range cabinet to tailor his sound to sit in that smaller space.
But I agree, most of his sound is going to come straight from his hands, either that or one of his mad chains of pedals!
Do you know a way i could get in contact with him that he wouldn't mind?
By the way Janek, are you playing the Bass Day UK thing again this year, I caught your set there a couple of years ago with Ollie Rockberger and a drummer whose name i can't recall. It was by far the best show of the day, would be great to catch you again sometime. |
