Choosing your music career

Hi Janek,

I have a maybe personal question!
Have you made any sacrifice to your family/girlfriend by choosing your music career. I think in terms of you living in New York you don't see your family that often.

Christian

I have made many sacrifices in order to follow my career in music. And that has included being far away from family, girlfriends and loved ones. it is tough sometimes, but you do what you believe is right in order to be successful at what you do. And the older you get the better you get at managing those more difficult things in your life that being a musician presents to you.

It does have it's payoffs though. If you can get through those tough times you'll come out stronger the other side, and that will reflect in your music in a lot of ways. I think I'm a more honest person for it, having asked myself some tough questions and had to be really honest with the answers I gave in order to commit to doing what I do. And the bottom line is that I truly love what I do. That's all I really needed to know when I set out on this career path, and it's been really great learning what I have about life through music so far.

I'm definitely not 18 years old anymore, and I do look at many things differently now. But I have no regrets, and I've been fortunate to be surrounded by kind and loving people that have helped me tremendously through it all.

Easy,

Janek
