Hello Janek,
I' am listening your songs and I found them to be very complex: you have great technique, great speed, great harmonies, musicality, and all in one song ... I can say that your music is complete!
Please tell me what is your approach when writing a song in order to be musical, to be dynamic ,to be catchy , to show some good technique, to have feeling and to flow easily.
Do you plan all this things conscious?
How do you structure your composition?
Thank you very much and please excuse me for my bad english!

I tend to look at writing from the melody first. I'll come up with a melody either with my instrument or without. And then make notes over time in a manuscript book. When it comes time to make a record or write an arrangement I'll go back to the book with all the little ideas written down in it and put together a bigger picture of things that work well together.

I like to work on reharmonization of melodies a lot. This way I can get a lot of material from one simple melody.
