Dancing While Playing?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just saw your BPLive clinic and I was very impressed! Your definitely a world class player. I was particularly amazed at your ability to play while dancing around. I have tried dancing around during shows and it affects my playing too much. I have thought about practicing it but I think I'm a big enough loser as it is

How did you get your moves? You're doing some difficult stuff: Isn't it difficult to pick the strings when the whole entire bass is moving with you?

Glenn,

thanks for your kind words.

As far as the dancing thing goes, it came naturally after some time of doing it. I don't really have any single major thing that helped me to be able to dance and play at the same time. But the main thing for sure is to have your playing ability being second nature. If you don't have to think at all about your technique, your sound, the song you're playing...... then dancing is going to be pretty easy. And also, don't lose sight of the fact that music is generally for dancing to..... so if you're playing something fat and grooving you should want to dance to it....

Easy,

Janek
