Hi Janek, congratulations for your work. I would like to know if you are coming to Italy again. I also would like to know your opinion about an italian bass player called Daniele Camarda, it seems like you were in Berklee around the same time. I find him really special too. Thank you!

I'm actually coming to Italy in the end of this month (oct) with Ada Rovatti from NYC. we'll be playing in mortara and in the blue note in Milano. And yes, I know Daniele very well. We were at berklee at the same time, and he has to be one of my favorite musicians in the world. I think he's an innovator of the music, a great human being, and of course a fantastic bass player too.

They're putting something in the water over there these days...Daniele Carmada, Vincenzo Maurogiovanni, Federico Malaman, and Roberto Badoglio are among a world-class crop of Italian bassists that all have a very unique voice.

Hehehe...I was hoping to see you here in November, but I see you're going to...Aalborg...instead. Hopefully next time.

Don't forget Dario Deidda when talking about Italian bassists. He's one of the best.

Hi Janek! Thanks for your reply. Too bad I'm not going to be able to come listen to you, too far from me.. Looking forward to the new release anyway. I agree about Daniele, incredibly unique and very modern.
Good luck with your tour, ciao!

One of my absolute favorite musicians in the world. I've met him through a mutual friend. I won't gush but I can't possibly say enough about Daniele. I hope that he eventualy gets the recognition that he deserves. There's just something so special about how he speaks through his instrument....you can hear his heart and soul (I would normally not say such a thing as it sounds a bit hoaky...but it's just so true in Daniele's case).

Looking forward to the new album Janek.
