Janek,

On Mystery to Me, were you running the bass only DI or did you run it DI and mic an amp as well? I use a fodera and noticed that when I run it DI only in a studio, I lose a little punch and depth. What's your strategy when going into a studio and running your fodera DI only? Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well on mystery to me I wasn't playing a Fodera, it was my old Wal bass. And I was running just a DI. it was far from ideal, as I really like to have the amp fired up in the studio, but it was what it was. There were a lot of people in the same room so it had to be done that way.

I like to record on Neve boards if I can and use Neve Pre amps, it's one of the best sounding way to record the bass that I've found. But it really depends on the sound the producer is going for. You have to have range in your spectrum of colours that you can offer a song.

Easy,

Janek
