Question Four string bass guitar/cahuenga

Sign in to disble this ad
i acquired a bass guitar about a year ago. i don't play very much but i got it because it's such a beautiful piece. the body is sunburst with a black pick guard. where the strings attach to the body it has a large silver cover which looks like sterling silver. it appears to have mother of pearl inlays between the frets. it is a heavy four string bass and has the word "cahuenga" beautifully inscribed at the top where the tuning keys are in what appears to be gold foil. can you tell me anything about this beautiful piece of work? i might be interested in selling it and really need to get an estimation of it's worth. it's in excellent condition.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about the bass you're describing. I'm sure there is someone in the luthier section of talkbass that would be able to help you much more.

Easy,

I have a similar one, with a silver bridge cover, white pick guard, black thumb rest, and black precision pickups. It is also sunburst with "cahuenga" written in gold on the head. It looks almost exactly the same as the one here; Autographs America.com however it has silver, round volume and tone controls.

Ps I am hoping you have found out more about it, and that you can reply (though I did 3 and a half years late) to this with more information, Because I am having some trouble finding it.
