I'm in a hard rock band that's looking to play bigger venues. I'm shopping around for a new amp and I was wondering if I should get the Gallien-Krueger 1001RB-II. Also, I have a 2x10 carvin cab that puts out 400 watts at 4 ohms. Will this amp destroy it?

this is no fault of yours.....

BUT:

I really don't answer gear questions. I know nothing about gear. I know about Fodera Basses, Fender basses, and Fender amps.... and a very few effects pedals.

beyond that I can be no help to you whatsoever. I'm going to make a sticky about not asking gear questions in this forum. There are so many people online in this forum that can help you way better than I ever will be able to.

I would suggest going over to a gear section of the forum and posting the same question.

Easy,

Janek

There a ton of TB'ers on this forum that could have answered this question for you.

Since that GK 1001 RB II pushes 700 watts into 4ohm (and being a previous owner of that exact same head) I would HIGHLY not recommend pushing that Carvin cab very hard with your head. You are kinda limited with it being a 4ohm cab as well.
