I haven't been to anyone else in NYC except Fodera.
But i know that 30th street guitars on 30th btwn 7th and 8th is very good. There also a cat up in Boston that a lot of guitar players and bass players send their stuff to.... I'm spacing on his name right now, but he does all Pat Metheny's stuff.
I once took my bass to Jimmy Coppolo when I was in town and he did a great job. I only had some minor stuff done, but it nevertheless felt great. www.guitarboutique.com

Are you talking about Wolf (has a workshop under the BPC)? Or Boof (Jim Mooradian's son), who does repairs in Porter Square, upstairs from Cambridge Music? Both are very good. Wolf has to be my favorite in the Boston area.

I'm thinking Peter Stokes @ Broken Neck on Boylston.
