How do I get the sound I want

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I very new to bass playing, although i've been playing trumpet for many years, I'm after getting a certian sound out of my amp but not sure how to acheive it.

I'm after a Duck Dunn type sound and don't where I should be sticking my Bass, middle and treble knobs. I realise this would vary amp to amp.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Pete

For a Duck Dunn sound I would go for flat wound strings on a P bass. the older the better with the strings and the bass.

I would go for getting the sound with your fingers and leaving all the tone controls flat.

Easy,

Janek
