| from a teacher standpoint if you were taking a lesson with me I would suggest a few of the following things to help improve your playing.
1. Time. I would like to hear you be more in control of your 8th notes, and be able to lock in with the drummer a little more. By all means taking the time out here and there and bending it, but giving a more solid statement at the beginning of the solo.
2. Motific development. Try using small rhythmic fragments within the context of the chord changes, and develop those ideas throughout the instrument.
3. Sound. Having a good sound is so important. You want your audience to hear everything you're playing so you need to make sure you sound is full, rich and clear. You also want to work towards having your own unique sound, and that will come through both sonic definition and note choice also.
