I'm about to launch a Premium Podcast with video footage of lessons and performances. It will be 99cents per episode, and I'm planning to do one a month right now.
I would love to hear your suggestions of what you might like to see in it content wise..... so I can really tailor it to the current audience of listeners and subscribers to my podcast that's been running for a couple of years.
I'm not sure on all the details yet as this is my first time doing a subscription based thing like this online. But I hope the price point of being less than a dollar per episode will keep the number of subscribers high so I can keep the price low.
Let me know your thoughts, and thanks for the support.

I would like to see some analysis of tunes you have written; current thought processes during the writing of those tunes, along with what you are transcribing at the moment.
It would also be nice to have a section/module of the episode devoted to work on the road and in the studio. This will give up and coming cats a real life account of what it takes to do what you do. |

Can't wait to check these out! |

I agree with Bernie, I would love to see you involved in the whole process of transcription and assimilate all the information be it 3 notes or a blistering 32 bar solo and then see how you use this fresh new information you've just gathered in developing your own unique voice. |

I've launched the video podcast with the first episode available here - http://gwizmon.podbean.com/2010/12/0...tice-routines/
To purchase or subscribe you'll need to go here to get a username and password - http://gwizmon.podbean.com/premium-signup
You can subscribe for 99¢ per two weeks as a recurring payment where you'll have access to all the videos in the series without restriction.
Or.... you can pay a one time fee of $4.99 and have unlimited access to all the videos in the series for 1 month.
For people interested in the one-time monthly option there is only one video in the series right now, but I will be adding another one later today, and then one every two weeks for the next six months so the library of available material will grow considerably from this point on.
Drop me a line and give me some feedback. This is in the beta stages right now and I want to develop it into something people can really get something out of.
Cheers,
Janek |

TWO weeks = 99 cent.
but
one month = FOUR weeks = $4.99
???
Both subscriptions offer "unlimited access" ("access without restriction") to "all the videos in the series".
What am I missing? |

| | Registered User Founder and CEO of http://videobasslessons.tv | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: New York/Los Angeles | | | it will become more obvious as I upload more content this week. the introductory offer of $4.99 for the month of december will give you access to all the material on the site (which will be around 4 or 5 videos by this weekend) and will run out after one month, whereas the ongoing subscription will be paid every two weeks to keep your account open. I'm doing it this way to encourage more people to stay subscribed at the lower rate and increase the number of people on the site. Rather than have few people that only pay once for the service for a shorter amount of time.
The fact they they are both unrestricted access is neither here nor there really, it's just a simple aspect of the site. It's the time for which they will be accessible for that changes depending on the kind of plan you sign up for.
I hope that makes sense.
And I also hope I can keep the price down to 99¢ for all the people with an ongoing subscription. As long as the number of subscribers is high I should be able to do it.
Let me know any thoughts or other feedback on the site. It's very much in the early stages right now and I'm looking to improve it in any way I can.
Thanks,
Janek |

For example "All the things you are" chord changes, how would you think of it as a soloist, or any other jazz tune....
I would like to hear your modern approach to that music style...
thanks....

I can certainly do a lesson on this topic.
I've actually started to restructure the whole concept of this venture and will be launching the "Janek Gwizdala Bass Masterclasses" on Jan 1st 2011. I will be releasing 1 video masterclass/lesson per week year round, as well as uploading bonus concert and performance footage for members. There will be a forum for students to connect on and network through, and there will be opportunities for students to record their own videos and post them to the site for group discussion. Although I may not be able to reply personally to all the videos, I will be taking ideas for new lessons from students videos and staying very much in touch with the needs of the students, and in touch with what is needed on the site as far as content goes.
There will be multiple membership levels including monthly, quarterly, and yearly subscriptions with a price break the more you sign up for.
I'll have some free videos up and running and a promo site within the next few days so you can all check it out and give me some feedback.
Looking forward to interacting more with all of you through this new school in the coming months.
Janek

| | Registered User Founder and CEO of http://videobasslessons.tv | | Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: New York/Los Angeles | | | for anyone already subscribed to the video podcast series I will be canceling the current subscription plan, but offering anyone who subscribed before the 31st of Dec 2010 a special "charter member" rate for the new site and all it has to offer as I launch on Jan 1st.
The basic layout will be up and running in the next few days, and you'll be receiving an offer by email as soon as all the kinks are out of the beta system I'm working on right now. I've also filmed a ton of new content for the launch, and am categorizing everything within the new site, and making it searchable for people who are looking for specific lesson topics and content.
I'm also planning to make the four videos that have been released on the podcast series open content for anyone to download and watch, they will also be archived on the new site, and I'm also maintaining the free audio podcasts that I've always done. They'll be available on the new site also, as well as my own new personal website which launch in the next week also.
The idea is to bring a community of musicians together in one place, have a forum for everyone to network on and upload their own videos for others to see, and to have access to a continually growing library of video masterclasses from me available 24/7. We're working on mobile options right now too so that videos will be available to stream, download, and to take with you on your iPhone for instance to check out on the go.
I welcome everyone's feedback, and would love to hear what else you might like to see from an online music resource like this.

Janek | That is great Janek. I am looking forward to the new site and format.. I was having a terrible time trying to access the videos on podbean thing... It kept locking the computer up..
I look forward to being a charter member... you're an inspiration (even for an old guy like me) :-)
cheers
