Whats it like playing with JoJo? I've always really admired his playing and exploration into new territories. You can just tell he has total control of the drum set. I've emailed him a few times asking him questions about getting the D&B "sound" and he has always been very helpful. I'd love to see him live sometime.

Sorry, don't mean to turn this into a drummer chat. Just curious to see how it is, being a bass player, to play with him.

Jojo certainly is a unique individual with a huge understanding of many different styles of music, and not just electronic music which happens to be his personal outlet.

It's a lot of fun to play with him as you might imagine. He's been on the scene for some years more than me, and learning from his experiences and stories is an invaluable situation to find myself in.

We're touring pretty hard right now so we're playing lots of gigs all over the place, and dealing with many and varied situations every day. Musically it's on an extremely high level as you might expect. We have takuya Nakamura on keyboards and trumpet, and Rolli Mossiman on live sound/real time audio decronstruction. these are quite a hilairious group of people to be in a confined space with (tour bus) and there will be much posting of video footage from this tour in a documentary I'm making about the whole experience. I've posted a few snipets from the rehearsals from three weeks ago on youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=q3Jy-orDZYU

and there will be much more to come with a new website I'm going to be a part of where I'll have a "tour diary" page, and will post video footage, and interviews from wherever I am in the world.

Easy,

Janek

Janek, (digging up old topics here)

Can you explain how YOU use the Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter? I checked one out not too long ago and decided that I'd have to spend at least a couple days seeing if I could pull something out of it that I find useful. What's it do for you? (to merit the price tag) And in what context did/do you use it with Nerve? Or any music, for that matter.

Thanks,

Andrew

I used it to filter either a sub bass sound or a distorted sound. I had it set up to where I left the pedal in one setting and just used the expression pedal to change the sound. Perhaps starting off at the back of the pedal with a sub sound, and eventually building tension to higher pitched distorted sound.

Roli, our fourth band member, would also distort and filter the bass from the mixing console so there was a lot of interplay going on between him and the band.

Easy,

Janek
