Hey Janek,

About making your record.
Do you pay your musician to play on your record or is like a favour your guys are doing for each other.

I'm really looking forward to heard your new record.

I always pay my musicians, engineers, mixing, mastering etc etc.... it's a professional recording and not a demo or a favor.....

Looking forward to releasing this one, had so much fun tracking in the studio this week.

Easy,

Janek

How about an Asian Tour??

Having concerts just in Korea might be tough finacially; however if you have schedules in Japan, it will be much easier. It is within 2 hours of flight maximum.

Also, we have this international jazz festival you may want to check out. This year's website isn't fully up, however you can click the "lineup" tab and see how it is going to be like.

or

from the last years festival,

Hope I can see you here.

I'm originally from Toronto, and my close friend there is tied in with the jazz scene. I've asked him who he recommends that you can contact.

Will you be touring through Boston???

Thanks

I see you are going to be in Indianapolis in September. Not sure if you have enough time to play side gigs, but you aught to see if you can get a date at The Jazz Kitchen here. We've played there several times and its a nice, intimate venue.

The owner, Dave, is who you need to talk to. His email is on the site.

I second this. The Jazz Kitchen is great. Saw Steve Smith & The Jazz Legacy there one year. A lot of fun!

Janek,

I recently "discovered" your music. Downloaded both of your live albums off itunes. Fantastic, fantastic stuff! Now I'm digging into your podcasts. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to share your knowledge and experience. I've been trying to find information on your upcoming studio album, when will it be released, and what other artists are you collaborating with?

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,

thanks for your kind words, and for checking out the music.

The new album should be out by september, probably around the middle of the month.

The album will feature my trio of Jojo Mayer and Tim Miller, with guests Mike Stern, Jamie Cullum and Audun Waage.

Easy,

Janek

Good to hear Janek

Do you still live in New York or are you spending more time in L.A?
