Hey Janek,

I've been following you on twitter, and noticed you mentioned you finished writing some new tunes for the tour. I was wondering if any of them are going to be recorded and available in your store? I'm definitely excited to hear the new stuff! Thanks.

More bootlegs, fantastic stuff. Noticed on the art on earth site that 80% of the revenue goes to the artist. Surely it being an on-line database with few overheads etc., that more of the revenue would go to the artist. I dread to think what the set-up with Itunes is.

80% of revenue to the artist is something like 15% more than any other online service gives you, and then you have the cut that the middle man/third party upload service like CD baby charges you too. I know it's something like an extra 9% of revenue that CD baby take out of your iTunes check so you make under 60% of what the song sells for.

Not only do you make a tiny percentage with most online companies, but you have no control over your material. Itunes sets the price for you, as do around 50 of the other sites that offer a similar product. With Art on Earth you are in total control of your music at all times from the start.

And I'm not sure what concept you have of what it takes to start up a project like this, but we've spent enough money to buy a large house so far, and it's at about half of what we want it to be..... so that might give you an idea of what is needed in order to just break even on the investment.

We're planning to present this project at all the major music courses around the universities and colleges in the US and Europe with a visual presentation followed by a concert with my group. So I think that will spread the word in a big way, but it's really up to the artists to upload fantastic content that the general public want to purchase, and spread the word to other like minded artists.

I think with it's higher profit margins, immediately available for purchase uploads, and some of the most advanced mobile design concepts we have planned to add to it, AOE will soon become the standard for the indie artist to market and sell music online.

I appreciate any support anyone here might be able to give it by spreading the word. I will post more about it as it develops.

and for now, i leave you with the latest podcast which just went live!
