Periphery - bass sound

Sign in to disble this ad
I want to try and imitate the sound or tone of this bass in this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ah6Y2chzz4 with my btb 575 bass. I know that this band recorded with using a pick and struck the strings very hard giving that wah wah sound. However, I play bass using fingers, is it possible to achieve that sound using fingers? I need some advice on this, thanks.

The bassist from Periphery is actually on these forums, although I cannot remember my name. Try posting a comment on the YouTube video to see if you can get a response. Also try posting on their official Periphery YouTube channel, Bulb frequently responds to questions/comments.

I do know that he uses Dingwall basses.

does anyone know? I already comment on youtube, all i got was to strike the strings really hard that it bends slightly. Another example is Bleed by Meshuggah.

Post in "bassists" forum, not here. You might actually get help.
