Janek,

Hope the tours going well, been checking out the pictures, looks amazing! It's a crime not to post these concerts on Art on Earth! haha. I was wondering though, I'm currently a music student in NYC and was wondering what your life was like when you were 21 and how you got to where you are today (the ability to tour the world with your own group) as far as the progression from Berklee to NYC to a gig here that led to a connection there etc. I'm just tryin to find some hope out there for myself haha. Thanks for all of the great music, never stop!

James

well hope is always there. you just have to really want it. There are some periods in NYC of paying dues and working as a sideman, but there's really no reason you can't start working with your own band whenever you like. You just have to have something to say that people want to listen to. It's all about experience really, and the older you get the more you'll have. I just don't take no for an answer from myself ever. So that means I keep on trying until something works.

Easy,

Janek
