Real Quick Transcribing Question

You seem to get all the transcribing questions on talkbass so I wont beat a dead horse, but do you use your bass while transcribing, or just your ear. I can see not using the bass when learning a different instrumentalists solo, but what about when learning bass lines, grooves, and phrasings? Thanks Janek,

I used to do all my transcriptions at the piano which helped my piano playing a lot. Some things I now do by ear if I'm on a plane or something, or don't have by bass nearby. And then some stuff I'll do on the bass.

I would recommend the piano though as it really tightens up another instrument for you at the same time as transcribing vocabulary for any instrument.

Easy,

Janek
