I completely doubt he is talking about English.

you took a challenge to be the 'better' musician, and you don't know any solos? How do you hope to win? THAT is what makes no sense.

BUT...... learn teen town and play it perfectly and you'll probably by some points that way.

How good one person thinks another human beings music is, is based on taste. There are no set of rules to base a win/loose decision on when it comes to music. Each set of ears forms their own rules for what stimulates them in a positive and uplifting way, and therefor makes an entirely unique decision about whether or not a certain type of music is "good" to them.

Competitions of any kind (in my opinion) when it comes to taste are pretty void, as you're relying on someone elses opinion to validate some you feel emotionally in order to gain recognition or prize for your art.

It can be very nice to be recognized for artistic achievment in your genre (downbeat polls, magazine awards etc..) but as a head to head competition I think it's rather strange that you would pit two artistic motions against each other for monetory and competitive gain.

Easy,

Janek

learn the My Generation solo. take that, play about as many variations as possible, then, get your bass to feedback, put it on the floor, pluck the strings with your feet(LIGHTLY), take your shirt off and throw it, then, take your bass, put it back on, and play the most slaptastickly funky riffs you can, and boom! solo.

Why don't you spit blood or light fire like Gene Simmons and then you've got it.

Bravo, one of the most mature posts on the entire forum. I wish more people would get this.

for real... why don't you get a great groove going with the drummer? then everyone, you and the crowd, can enjoy the music!

nothin' like an impromptu groove!
