Some help with bass runs & such

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I've been playing bass for a couple of years now and I’m trying to take it more seriously. And I really want to nail bass runs and fills.

Do you know of any site or any help you can direct my way for these two subjects? I’ve tried searching for bass runs and I can't seem to pick up any information on it. So I was hoping you may be able to help.

Thanks a lot.

I really wouldn't recommend going to a website and ripping off a few cheap licks.

If you want to widen your vocabulary on the bass, or any instrument for that matter, I would suggest finding records with examples of what it is you're trying to play, and then learning it from there. The more you work on picking something up from a recording the deeper inside your playing it's going to be.

Easy,

Janek

I personally would use any means you find comfortable. You learn for all aspects of online material, CD's, viewing YouTube videos, instruction videos and listening to a satellite radio station that plays your kind of music non stop.

Keep an open mind. Never say never. Think inside, outside, upside and downside the box.

From a nauseating polka rhythm to stream of conscious free form playing and everything in-between, their are good ideas to draw from.

Tomorrow never knows.......
