Speaker Replacement

Sign in to disble this ad
Quick question: I have a Hartke 410 cab, and I want to replace the speakers (rattles). I play a 5 string. What 10" speaker would you recommend to keep the advantages of the B string lows but not kill the highs?

Isn't there an amp/cab forum on this site? There is a sticky at the top saying that Janek doesn't answer gear questions!

yeah, unfortunately I really can't help you on the gear front, but there are a lot of other people on the talkbass forum that can.

My only suggestion would be not to play Hartke.... I've never really liked the gear. The company I use is TC electronic, and they just brought out a range of stuff that is a little more affordable and just incredible sounding.

other than being a shill for TC, how does this answer the question about replacement speakers?

A shill for TC? no, I endorse their products, and don't deal with any other amps ever so it's their product that I'm familiar with and not ampeg. I also have a sticky in my section of the talkbass forum that clearly states this is not the place to post questions about gear. In my previous post above I also suggested that if you post this question in the appropriate location on the site, you'll find 100's of people who can help you way better than I can.

Would you have preferred me to give you a dishonest and uninformed answer to your question? or to perhaps help you realize this wasn't the place to post it in the first place and that you'd be better off finding someone who knows about the subject way more than I do?
