transcribing question.

Hi Janek.

Just a simple q.

When transcribing how do you notate. For example a piano solo or sax. Do you do it in basscleff or in the treble cleff?

In basscleff the notes would actually sound an octave lower unless we use a lot of extra lines right? :-) But on the other hand, that's where we play it :-) On a 4 string anyway.

Thx

I notate almost everything in the treble clef. I like to read things in their actual register. it messes with my head to read it all in the bass clef when it's sounding an octave or more higher in reality.

I will use a double staff for piano when I'm transcribing chord voicings which with be bass and treble cleff.

Easy,

Janek
