Hey Janek-
I know you used to play a Wal and now you play a Fodera.
Can you explain what made you switch instruments? Was it something in the tone qualities, the feel of the neck, or the overall look?
Thanks.

The fodera is the most natural sounding bass that is a starting point for creating my own sound. I feel it's an instrument I can truly play flat using only the wood, strings, and fingers, and really get my own thing happening with it. So I guess that would be about the tonal quality of the bass. It's not about the look at all, although I do happen to think the body of my bass is made of a great looking piece of wood. But it's all about the sound.

Easy,

Janek

Did you feel the Wal bass was less natural sounding and more difficult to eq based on your style?

I think the wal was a little more extreme in the electronics in colouring the sound. And I dug the more natural sound of the fodera.

Easy,

Janek
