Who's transcribing what right now?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

Just as a matter of interest I thought it would be fun to see what everyone is working on right now.

I've just started transcribing Paul Chamber's walking line on "Oleo" from the Miles Davis album "Relaxin' With the Miles Davis Quintet".

Let's see what we're all up to.

All the best,

Steve

That's cool you get to play Night Streets on a gig.

I'm not transcribing anything! Too busy atm learning tunes for a bunch of top 40 gigs... Gotta learn like 100 songs between a few different bands I'm workin with

I'd be into posting transcriptions here.

Last thing I've done was John Patitucci's solo on "Spaceships" from his Sketchbook CD. Great solo.

Janek- Miles on SNC; F major on the blues rules!
Nah but seriously, great solo, everyone should know that.

You know, I did a bunch from that one (Bell, Book,) but Oleo always was on my list and never got to it.
It's kind of weird, right? Not really outling the 1625 etc, more diatonic? Or is that wrong? The time on that is a little weird as well. Did you hear the outtake sessions where Miles says "Paul, keep the tempo up there" LOL.

I was lucky enough to go to and see Lawrence doing a masterclass on Tuesday at the ICMP in Kilburn.

He really is a fantastic player, there's a possibility that he will be doing private teaching there.

Today, just did 'Dil Chahara Hai' by Tony Grey, for my combo. Rad tune. By the way, does anyone know what that means??

Soon: Either Jaco or Metheny's solo on Bright Size Life.
