why does one note sound louder than the others

when I play an E (can be low or middle or high E) it resonates louder and sounds a little different that all the other notes on my bass, this has just started happening recently? is it my guitar or could it be something else?

Could be the bass's construction, could be your amp likes that note better, could be the room. My guess would be the room.

I'd agree. If it's a problem with just Es then I reckon you've found the resonant frequency of your room.

there are so many parts of an instrument that will resonate differently in different places. Just on the instrument or in different locations that you're playing at. The more time you spend with your instrument the more you're going to be able to control these things and make the most out of them dynamically.

Easy,

Janek
