Anyone in the PA area want to join our mini-GTG the weekend of the 13th?

So, so far there's two of us who are meeting up to put our grubbie paws on each others toys.
I was curious if anyone else in PA wanted to hook up?
It looks like it's going to be on the weekend of the 13th of December.

Kind of an open event. Anyone is obviously welcome, but on such short notice and being that PA bassists seem to be few and far between (literally), I don't expect a HUGE turnout .

I'd be interested in such an event, but Johnstown is near Williamsport I think? I live near Philadelphia.

Johnstown is well south of Williamsport. It's about an hour East of Altoona. I think I can make it to Philly in about 3 hours.

Where? I don't know. Heck, we don't even know what DAY or time yet . Still trying to sory all of the details. I didn't want to make certain plans with one other dude and expect everyone else to follow suit. Some time, some place on either the 12th/13th/14th.

I'm doubting I can do it even if it's halfway between Johnstown and Philly. But who knows? Maybe I'll be able to do it. I'll check in on this thread to see what goes on.

This ain't no spam...

This is good stuff!!

Unfortunately, the 13th is a Saturday - tree chopping in the morning, and dinner with friends that night. The following weekend is my daughter's 16th birthday, so December's pretty well shot already (and it hasn't even started yet).

Knowing PA winters, maybe something in the Spring...in Harrisburg? That's pretty central for everybody - longest drive would be 3 hours from Pittsburgh.

Erie would be longer, but don't know if anyone is on this board from Erie...

Just a thought...

I'd have to put a vote in for Altoona and not just because I'm 15 minutes away! (I'm actually over 3 hours away in Akron OH, but I'm from outside Altoona and come to PA every few weekends. Altoona would be great because it's 3.5 hours from Philly and 2.5 hours from Pitt. And it's smack between 80 and 76. I can look into renting this nice sized building owned by the local PPG factory. It's in a great location just off of I-99/Rt 220 with no worry of noise complaints!

I don't think I can make December with my work schedule and the holidays, especially if we want this to be a (nearly) all day event. I may be able to swing by for an hour, but I'm pretty well booked this month. I agree on January pending nice weather.

Also, the more notice the better, as I can rally up a good handful of bassists from Rockpage.net.

I can't make it the weekend of the 13th either. Daughter's B-day. I would however, like to do something in Harrisburg or any other central PA or N. MD area.

If you guys set something up or need help setting something up, let me know!

I live outside Philadelphia... I would LOVE to do a GTG. Let me know how this plays out... the 13th pretty packed... but if you move it to after the 1st of the year I would love to participate.

Bummer
