Bass Player LIVE! in Los Angeles, October 20-21

Friends,

Just want to make sure you all know about Bass Player LIVE!, which is returning to Los Angeles in just a couple weeks.

Pretty amazing lineup -- Chris Squire and Aston "Family Man" Barrett will be on hand to perform and accept BP Lifetime Achievement Awards, and Robert Trujillo will treat attendees with a exclusive preview of the Jaco film he is producing. Jaco's son Johnny (and possibly some of his siblings) will be there to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award for Jaco.

On the clinic front, too much to list here, but check out the site for the most up-to-date schedule: bassplayer.com/live.

This year's exhibit floor will be the biggest we've had yet, with a bunch of new manufacturers showing off gobs of killer new gear.

If you're in the area -- or can get there -- you owe it to yourself to make it out. It's a pretty incredible event!

If you have any questions, post them here and I'll do my best to reply. Cheers!

Best,
Brian

I will be there this year. This is my first ever music industry convention, and I am not sure what to bring/not bring.

There are definitely artists I want autographs from, do they have autograph books/programs for this, or do I need my own crap to sign? Also, do people usually bring a bass or leave them at home?

Thanks in advance!!

We'll have programs there that people have used in the past for autographs. Just be sure to bring your own Sharpie!

Best to leave your bass at home. Clinics are Q&A/performance format for the most part. And there will be plenty of basses in the exhibit room for you to get your fix.

See you there!

Geeez. I didn't hear or read anything about this. I just stumbled over this thread. Tickets are more expensive this close to the event. Too bad.

Bummer -- we've been spreading the word in the magazine, Twitter, Facebook, eNewsletter etc., but I guess not enough here.

At any rate, if you can make it, the discount code FANBASS will give you 25% off...

possibly the best ever BassPlayerLIVE event ever! the presence of the Pastorius family and getting to hold THE BASS OF DOOM made my regular trip out from NJ even more worth it this year!

Didn't get to hold it, but hearing it played by Steve Bailey was amazing. And seeing the family was pretty moving!
