Chicago GTG report!!!

A good time was had by all on Saturday afternoon at Bass Club Chicago - a big shout goes out to Mark for hosting all of us crazy knob-twiddling, gear-spanking freaks!

Let's see, where to begin. First of all, the entire group is hands-down just about the nicest and most easy-going bunch of people you will ever meet. A bunch of philosophical ideas exchanged, lots of equipment shared and everyone there just to kind of hang out, talk shop and eat the occasional donut.

Personal fave moments (in no particular order) -

1. Listening to Jauqo talk about his experience playing with Bernard Purdie
2. Catching up with my dear friends Eli and BillyB from LZ
3. Listening to the sustain on Iota's Barker EUB. It felt like half an hour!
4. Playing Justin's home-made EUB. I want one. Badly.
5. Talking business with Dan Lakin.
6. Lane's solo during the Eden clinic.
7. Listening to a whole bunch of guys play the Lonnybass. I know what I sound like when I play it - hearing Jauqo, Eli and you other wizards gives me GREAT joy!
8. Seeing BillyB's new Karl Hoyt that thinks it is a cross between an Alembic body and a Fodera neck. Mmmmmmm!
9. Jauqo's bag-o-techniques. Wow. Back to the woodshed for me.
10. Going to Saturday night's gig feeling reinvigorated and recharged - a very good feeling! Any of you other guys who had to play Saturday night feel the same way?

Looking forward to seeing all of you again at the next GTG at the Lakland shop. Saturday was way too much fun!

Lonnybass

I had a great time there too. I just wished I had not missed so much of it due to my auto mishap.
