Chicago TB'ers ... some help maybe ...

So the wife and I are heading to Chicago Monday morning for the Grateful Dead show on the 5th. On the 4th I told her that night we are going to Buddy Guy's because I wanted to check out the place. Well I noticed today that on Monday nights they run an open jam there.

Has anyone played at the open jam there? If so Ive got a couple questions for you;

-- How friendly are they to newbies?
-- Is it really an open jam or where the songs flow and are made up on the fly, or do they play established tunes?
-- Anything you can tell me would be cool ...
