Seems to me that this club should create an opportunity for us to get together and GAS out over each other's cool equipment.

How did I miss this? Anyway I don't really do the club number thing either but I'll jump in anyway. I am hoping to get some gigs going on soon with my band the mumbles but everyone having full time jobs really puts a damper on getting together for practice!

Is there really a 19mm string spacing club?

All we're waiting for is for someone to offer up their space. How much room would we need for 20 bassists and all the other stuff?

It seems that's all we are waiting for. I wish I had access to the rehearsal space my old band uses. I would totally offer my place, but we'll not fit more than about 5 of us.

There has to a gigging Denver area member that knows where a group of people could meet up and play music at a somewhat loud volume....

I could talk to a friend who used to throw parties in that area to see if he knows of a basement we could rent, but it would probably cost more than we'd like. Maybe we should expand the search out from Denver and see if anybody in the entirety of CO has a place we could use.

Don't forget about the actual GTG thread. The more it's out there, the better the chance someone will come up with an answer.

I got 100 in a few of these clubs.

I play in a contemporary Praise and Worship band here in CO Springs.

You can here our most recent song at

http://www.myspace.com/iamhdawg

It is a cover of Lifehouses "Everything." We did it for a radio contest.

BTW, I forgot to mention my project - Fina Dupa is a primarily original band. I'm never clear how to categorize us, but Westword nominated us in the "Best Funk Band" category last year, so that's a start.

We are in a rotation at 1515 Market and Celtic Tavern/Delaney's right now, with a few added shows coming up at Dulcinea's, Caldonia's, the Rock Bottom outdoor concert series in the summer, Highland Street Fair, and the South Park Music Tour coming up. Come check us out sometime - here is the schedule page and the link to the myspace page is in my sig.

I am considering adding one or two subs, as my day job becomes more travel demanding. If you like the stuff and are interested, let me know.

I got this in an email today, I think you'll appreciate it...

A WINTER STATISTIC

98% OF AMERICANS SAY "OH ****" BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD. THE OTHER 2% ARE FROM COLORADO AND THEY SAY, "HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS."

No beer, but I have slid into a ditch more than five times. Most avoiding another driver. Most of em with Texarse license plates, or school buses!

Each time (except the last) I just pulled right out and kept going.

No beer for me either, but it is almost always Texans at the root the problem. Our roads were much safer until the influx of flatlanders from the lonestar state and Crapifornia in the early 90's. They move here and buy big ol' SUV's and have no clue how to drive them in the snow.

I can't tell you how many times I've winched these panicked folks out of ditches over the years.

Not fair to call Californicators "flatlanders" as a rule, but I know what you mean. The ones who annoy me the most, though, are the ones from Nebraska who "have to drive into the canyons" and go 25 mph because it's either too freaky or too beautiful...

(PS: The version of the above joke that *I* heard goes as follows: What are the dying words of 40% of all Tennesseean men?....... "Hey Vern.... watch THIS." )

When I lived in Bailey, in high school, anyone who lived below 8000ft was considered a flatlander. Now, I just reserve that term for any non-native who's presence in our glorious state detracts from our way of life. This basically cover most Texans, and a lot of the California contingent. So far, the only positive thing these folks have brought to us is Carl's Jr. Although, they get negative points for wasting valuable real estate with disgusting Del Taco franchises.
