I am sorry that I am going to miss this - but have band practice that was rescheduled to tonight at my request last week :-'

Would have liked to meet some of the other CO TB members. Will look for the next event - have yet to get into the store to meet you guys!

Have fun.

Thanks to all of you who attended the Bryan Beller Clinic.

It was a great success, and we had over 30 in attendance. It's always a gamble to host an event like this and have poor turnout. I'm extremely happy the CO bass community turned out and helped support Bryan for this event.

And yeah, Beller is just amazing.

Thanks for organizing and hosting Dan! Bryan's a great player and a nice guy, it was awesome to meet him get a little insight on his playing. Looking forward to future events!

It was also awesome to finally see the shop, too... I was really impressed! Cool setup, awesome gear, great vibe! Nice to finally have a shop like that in the area again.

Oh noes, Music Exchange in Co Springs is closing. Anyone know any good/fairly priced tech in the Springs? That was my go to shop.

Any details on the Music Exchange closing? Time frame, sales, anything like that. Bad news anyway you look at it.

Guys we really need to get another GTG going somehow. Denver or Colorado Springs would be fine, but something would be friggin awesome.

Don't know any final dates. Checking it out tomorrow. I feel bad for Ed. Don't know why he is closing, but James that works there is my tech and he is awesome. I can't count the number of times he has done little things at no charge for me. And, he also refused tips (monetary).

Man... going to Music Exchange today was depressing. Looks like they got rid of a lot. They had several amps and cabs but only 4 basses left. About the same amount of guits. Shook Ed's hand, he said thanks for the business over the years. I am so depressed about this. Ed is a hell of a guy and I hope this was his choice... even though it probably wasn't.

RIP Music Exchange.

my Denver based band is looking for a rehearsal space. Does anyone have any leads?

also, has anyone tried using one of those U-Store it places to rehearse?

Francisco Studios near Quebec and I-70 (roughly, it's actually in a quiet neighborhood) is a decent place to rehearse IF you don't have loud neighbors or, like my band, use in-ears.

i've rehearsed there in the past- it is really nice, though i suspect it is out of our budget. regardless, i am inquiring about rates and availability.

That will run you $300 a month in the Springs.

Hello Gang, I have a question for you. Do any of you have problems with "fret Sprout" aka "Neck Shrinkage" on your wooden basses you bring to our lovely state from other places? I have a humidifier running at my place almost all the time, but I still have a problem with basses coming from other states that seem to grow fans along the neck after being here for a few weeks or so. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue or is it something I'm doing wrong?

Maybe I'm lucky but this has not happened to any of my basses that I brought from Missouri... they are bound necks made of kiln dried maple, perhaps that helps. Some basses will just do this and others won't, and when they do you have to file the frets a bit.

I lived in Denver for a little over a year. Moved there from PA. I had no real neck issues at all shy of some minor truss rod adjustments.

I just had this happen to my callowhill. It happened gradually over about 3 months. I told Tim (owner of callowhill) about it and he told me to ship it back to him and he fixed it for free, plus paid for shipping both ways. Now that's customer service!
