I guess my attendance was not meant to be.

First, the babysitter flakes on me. Not such a big deal after it's pointed out that others will have kids (& spouses) playing in the church's nursery.

Then I suddenly realize I may have a gas issue. For the car, not those *other* kinds!
A couple of borrowed Andrew Jacksons took care of that issue.

I managed to wake up before noon on a Saturday for once. In the process of getting things ready, my daughter decides that a Littlest Pet Shop toy would make a good breakfast. Started choking. Scared the poop out of me! Grabbed her in one arm & started slapping her back, while grabbing the phone in the other hand and calling 911.
She coughed it up just as the dispatcher answered.
Cancelled the squad, but took her into the ER just the same, so they could check out her throat.

All is well. One small area of her throat may have a scratch, but nothing that needs attention. She's just excited to get a sucker and a cool new "bracelet" with her name on it!
"Dad," she said when we got home. "You always tell me not to put toys in my mouth cuz I might choke, but I did and I choked, huh? I'm never gonna do that again!"

So it was an eventful day after all; just not in the way I intended!

Wow, glad your daughter is okay. And I guess we'll just have to schedule another GTG for when the rest of us can come.
