D.C., MD, VA Fall 2010 GTG with clinic: 9/19/10

Where did the Summer go? That time is here already; mark you diaries, Sunday 19th of September, which is the date of the Fall GTG, from 5pm to 11pm at the new Minton's Music in Ashburn, VA!

The event will have all the usual GTG activities and by popular request it will include a 90min clinic by master clinician Anthony Wellington. This is not to be missed - so says Victor Wooten!

Price of the ticket is $40 in advance (via PayPal) $55 at the door, which covers entry, the clinic, pizza and soda, some neat door prizes and of course the chance to meet lots of fellow bass players and check out lots of great gear and jam!

We've listened to feedback from previous GTGs and this time around we'll have more time, individual soundproofed rooms, lots more common space, as well as a larger stage and performance areas and as mentioned the bass clinic with Anthony Wellington.

Head to www.dmvbass.com for all the information, directions, ticket purchase, etc.

...and remember the more folks attend the bigger the prizes!

Cool. I'm planning on attending but gotta check the date at work. Thanks, Dave, for getting this going. Anyone going from Montgomery Co. and want to share a ride (I can drive)? Since the last event I've built a fEarful 15/6 which I'll bring, plus the Clement 5 string fretless, and a fun modded Squire P project bass that people can thrash. David

Dumb question:

I suck at bass, but love it. Is it worth my time to go?

Absolutely! Lots of us suck at bass! All you need is love, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh!

Seriously, the event is for geared to all levels of ability; from beginners to old salty pros and everyone in between. The whole idea of getting Anthony Wellington there is that he's well known for giving clinic to a range of abilities, in a way that everyone will get something from the clinic. The ability to try a range of gear, exchange views and ask questions of other players is great for everyone too!

Pizza and door prizes don't differentiate playing abilities!

...and if you really do suck (not that anyone cares) there will be individual sound-proofed rooms you can hide in, so don't be shy!
