| | | | Hello,
The place to hang is Low Down Sound, in Ferndale (about 20 minutes up Woodward from Downtown). It's a very small bass only shop. The stock varies widely, but there are always at least a few 'high end' basses (FBass, Fodera, MTD, Ken Smith, Sandberg, etc.) around, plus lots of LDS custom cabs, Ampeg, Eden, and a few boutique cabs and heads (Epifani, Schroeder, Aguilar, Bag End, etc.) that often are there on consigment or sometimes new stock. They usually have quite a selection of Lakland Skyline basses on hand also.
It's a very friendly place, and we all hang there quite a bit (mostly during the week). When 5 or 6 of us get together and also brind our personal basses, it can be quite an impressive collection of stuff to try out! Let us know when you will be in, and at least some of us will meet you over there.

I will be arriving Sat. 20 and leave on Fri 26th.
Depending on my schedule, I think it will be Monday or Tuesday. Guess on Sunday the shop is closed.
Looking forward to it.
Now let's search for some interesting gigs in the Detroit area....
Cheers, Grad |

I will be around those days. The store is open from noon to 6. As it gets closer, PM me and we will put a little bit of a hang together. If there is anything in my gear list that you want to check out, let me know and I'll throw it in the car.
Regarding venues and checking out music, I'm still somewhat new in town, so I'm not the best source for that. If Mikebass doesn't show up here soon (or Matrok), you might want to PM them as it gets closer to get the scoop on what's happening.

EDIT: Rats... conference call just got scheduled... no leaving the office for me today. Have fun at LDS. Ryan is the store manager, and is a great guy. They have quite a few things in stock right now... a beautiful new F Bass, a nice Ken Smith on consignment, and a bunch of Lakland Skylines, a Lakland USA Tribute model with Darkstars, and a bunch of Sandberg's. Not a lot of cabs and amps at the moment, but some Eden stuff, some Bag End and a few nice LDS cabs.
