are you talking about the guy who was just tearing up J-basses in the "pizza room"? he's actually British. his name is Rufus Philpot and he's a pro player in L.A., known for intense fusion gigs like the Virgil Donati Group. an absolute monster and a very funny cat! that '65 J-bass he brought was a killer!
take it light,
Stew | Yah i really liked mike, he gave me a mini theory lesson. Does he have a TB name?
Yah I'm talking about Rufus. Also
what was Carey's cab. I really like it and my SWR is shot.

Rufus is insane but he gave me some great stuff to work on.
that rig we were all playing through was an Epifani. it's one of the set-ups we keep in the shop to test basses and pickups. did you get a chance to check out the weight on it? insane! it's light enough to lug around with one hand... easily!

Stew | I didn't get a chance to pick it up but I did see Rufus pick it up with one hand and he was very surprised. Do you which epifani cab it was. I looked through the site and I think it was a UL210. Either way it sound fantastic.

BTW: Where is Norstrand Located? | the shop is located about 80 miles east of L.A., out in the high desert. we're about half way between San Bernardino and Palm Springs. depending upon the day and time the drive is usually around an hour and a half or 2 hours. I'm in L.A. most weekends with rehearsals or gigs so I'm intimately familiar with the commute! |
