Houston Area GTG- Jan 3rd

Sign in to disble this ad
There will be a Houston area GTG on Sunday, January 3rd at Danelectro's Guitar Bar! This event will be open to all ages and all sorts of players are welcome.

You can find a map to DanElectro's here The address is

1031 East 24th Street

You are welcome to bring all your the basses, amps, effects, etc. Hopefully we can all have a great time, and see whats going around in the Houston bass scene.

Electronix pedals has stated an intent to come with a full pedalboard of Electronix pedals to try out. Bud LeCompte of LeCompte custom basses has also expressed an interest in coming.

Mark White, longtime bassist of the Spin Doctors, has also expressed interest in coming.

As we get a more solid attendance list, I'll edit the list so you can see who is definitely coming, and who is still a "maybe"

Several members have said they will bring amps. Here's a list of what we have so far:

McHaven- GK 1001RB, Avatar 410 Neo, full pedalboard
WokinOnIt- MarkBass 121p
5StringBlues MarkBass 210 combo, with extension
Downlowd- Peavey TNT, Markbass Combo
aBoMoFo- SWR Super Redhead[/b]

If this list is in error, let me know and I'll remove it. This is just the list of who has offered to bring an amp so far. You're still welcome to bring your own amp.

We also have the option of time at the moment. We can choose either 2-7PM or 3-8PM. I'll set up a poll, and that will choose the official start and stop times.

Renting Danelectro's will cost us 250 dollars. So far we have 225 dollars contributed, so if anyone feels the desire to help out, feel free.

To be honest guys, I am not sure if I personally will be in Houston on Jan 3rd. However, I will make sure you would have my all ElectroniX pedalboard and will contribute the remaining amount plus future possible costs if/as they occur.

Count me in! I'll bring my MIA J and my full pedalboard. 2 items that may be of interest to some of you are the POG2 and ry's cute triangle Muff clone - to my knowledge the only one he assembled.

And either time works for me.

try not to fall in love, they are discontinued and haven't seen a whole lot around the interwebs,

also everyone should put the link to this thread in their sigs, maybe we could drive the admission price down a bit,

So far, there will not be an admission fee. An anonymous contributor, as well as 5String Blues, and Os from Electronix and myself have pledged the funds necessary.

someone should get some of those "Hello My Name Is..." name tag stickers, and we put both our talkbass user name and our actual name, just to put a name with a face
yay or nay?

Don't forget McHaven. He can have my drink.I had to give it up in my 20's. Alkeehol likes me too much.

Speaking of alcohol, please be aware that Dan Electro's is a BEER,WINE,and SET-UPS bar only.SO IF YOU WANT LIQUOR IT IS BYOB!

Also, the owner of Dan's will be carding people and a close tab will be kept on the minors attending. If you are a minor and are caught drinking you WILL be asked to leave. If you do not leave voluntarily the police will be called to remove you.

I don't particularly subscribe to such a strict policy (tho I did come up with it) but nobody from the club or myself wants to be held accountable if someone underage drinks and has an accident on the way home.

Then, when you guys that are close to 21 turn 21,contact me. I'd love to buy you your first legal drink. (No,Pedobear is NOT here.)
