Jacksonville (FL) Jazz Festival - May 21-24

Hey guys. I think this is the right forum to post this. If not, then please move it.

Anyway, this weekend Jacksonville is host a jazz festival downtown, and I'm actually part of a group that's playing on Saturday at 4:30. So I figure if anyone from or near Jacksonville needs something to do this weekend, it'd be cool to get some fellow TalkBassers to come out. I'll be playing in front of the Landing.

This is a pretty cool opportunity for me, I think, considering as how I wasn't even in a jazz band of any kind last year, nor did I know how to read and perform a walking bass line. And now I get to play at a festival!

I guess its also noteworthy that one of our trumpets is a fullback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. I'm not sure how we got him on board, but he's been pretty cool.

awesome... i will be heading up that way at some point. whats the name of your band/stage? I will try to catch y'all

Honestly, I don't remember. I think its the Jazz Juniors stage (again, in front of the Landing), and our group name is something like The River City High School All Stars Jazz Band or something like that. Its long.
