I just moved to Lewisville(outside of Winston Salem)NC and am looking for places to hear music and network with musicians in Greensboro,NC-as well as Raleigh/Durham and Chapel Hill,NC. Have played jazz(straight-ahead/fusion/various stylistic hybrids, but not"smooth" jazz), funk, samba & bossa nova(with Brazilians
),weird-experimental-jam-bandy-label-defying-groove music, as well as r&b, blues,
and rock with a funky edge(sometimes with a rapper). Play 6 string fretless and 5 string fretted; have played the fretless in the most unlikely settings and usually pulled it off because I play in tune( not being boastful-I constantly work at it!
).Given my musical tastes and experience, what venues/organizations/publications should I check out? Thanks for any help!
