Just heard about an upcoming event planned for August 29th in Long Beach, CA. It's the first annual Long Beach Funk Festival. The only confirmed artist I know of so far are:
Freekbass
Dawn Silva/Brides of Funkenstein
Baby Stone (daughter of Sly Stone)
From what I've been told it is going to be a free event and for all ages. I'll post the rest of the lineup as soon as I find it out. My guess is if Freekbass is there, Bootsy Collis is sure to be close by. Hopefully the west coast debut of Thee Ram.
