Looking for Ultimate experience for Bassist in LA area

Any venue that a Bass player would enjoy/love? a must see? the ulitmate experience?

What are some bass driven bands? low key or high profile

Songs?

I need to find some tics as my Valentines day gift. My guy only give me permission to use his profile till then so please help, any ideas?

Not on the 14th, but tomorrow night (Thurs), Ohm is playing at Baked Potato and their bass player (Robertino Pagliari) is sick enough to send most bass players into overload when they hear him. Sun night at same place has Captain Kirk, which has Rufus Philpot in the bass slot, another incredibly inspiring player. Jazz Bakery has Dori Caymmi with Jerry Watts on bass and Michael Shapiro on drums - very cool Brazilian jazz - the 11th - 14th.

Something to maybe get you pointed in a direction.

+1 on the Baked Potato.....you won't find many players to turn up your nose at on their stage at any time....
