NATIONWIDE USA/North America GTG?

Sign in to disble this ad
I don't know if this has ever been posted before but wouldn't it be cool to have a Nationwide GTG?

It could be held in conjunction with the NAMM show or something like that. I would bet that some vendor (or group of vendors) would pony up serious sponsorship dollars and/or perks.

Just something to consider.

Would you show up?

I believe Disenchant was thinking along the same lines...

Will there ever be a big TB convention?

I don't know how well a Nationwide GTG would work out, but I think it would work well if we split it up into 3 seperate ones. East Coast, West Coast, and Central USA. I'd definitely be down for something that

FWIW ...

A Nationwide GTG would have to be set up like any other National Convention -- hotels, flight arrangements, etc, etc, etc. It would also make sense to get some corporate sponsorship involved -- some of the larger manufacturers, retailers, and some "name" players, also.

I have pretty extensive experience as a convention planner but this would probably be a bigger undertaking than Paul would like to get involved in.

That said, it could be a lot of fun!

If we were to do this, holding it in conjunction with NAMM would be the smartest, easiest, most convenient play.

Who's in?

NAMM would be cool, but who's going to get access for everyone? Isn't admission limited to those who are in the industry and their invited guests?

I can envision a scenario where Talkbass.com is the industry member and the visitors to the GTG would be the invited guests.

This is a great Idea. National conventions such as this end up being a work in progress, so immediate results cannot be expected. However, you might some day down the road end up making a HUGE event out of something like this.
