The Xmas GTG didn't work out so I'm proposing later this month.

Is anyone up for a January 20 GTG on Long Island?

If we can get enough of us together, I will gladly host it.

Dave and I have been so busy moving into the new shop this month that we decided to skip NAMM altogether this year. It's the first time in four years that we're not going so it's actually kind of nice! Plus, there aren't a lot lines that we need to pick-up and we only sell the GS5 direct at this point (not through dealers) so there isn't any real compelling reason for us to go this year.

Ya know, I've been meaning to attend one of these in the city, but the past three NYC GTGs I've had to bail out...

If it's not too far out of the city, within a reasonable distance via the LIRR, then I'd like to do it. Count me tentatively in...

Alright! So we've got two so far, do I hear three? C'mon where's three?

For those who have attended these, what is a reasonable threshold for attendance? 10?

hmm a gear related gtg or a hang out gtg?

if its a hang out gtg, im down

if its a gear related gtg, im down but will need a ride. brining 2 basses and a pedalboard that far would be a massive pain in the arse and almost impossible. my board is pretty heavy

and if the car has enough room, id even be down to bring my peavey tnt 160

so if anybody wants to drive down to forest hills to pick me up, let me know

I'm sure it wouldn't be too big of a deal if you came without gear, I'm sure Joel will have enough

I may be able to go, depends on if I end up working that day. and when.

Joel, where are you going to have it, your home?

If so, I'd say 10 - 15 would be the most you'd want there, unless you have a very big house.

At the GTGs I've hosted, I believe the turnouts were:

2004 - 19
2005 - 42
2006 - 26 - At this one, people were coming and going all day, so I don't think there were more than 18 in the hall at any one time.

BTW, the hall where I had them was about 50ft x30ft.

I can't make anything in January; too many events coming up.

If you have one, good luck.

Mike

Mike,
Depending on how big it gets I'll probably have it at my rehearsal space.

Subscribing to listen in, but really waiting for the next GTG closer to the Hudson Valley.

Maybe we need to plan further out as it seems like a lot of guys can't make it.

In either case, I'll be around the shop on the 20th so maybe we can do an informal GTG until we firm something up.
