Oregon Talkbass GTG?

Anyone interested? I know of a couple of places to hold it in my area, but any other suggestions would be great!

Corvallis is probably plenty close enough for the Gorge crew -- at least until weather issues start to pop up. Lots of Portland TB'ers have come to the ones out here, so I'd assume they'd be down too.

When was the last time one of these was held? I would like to have this happen in the next few months, if possible. I can talk to my boss at the music store I work at about using our shop for it, or I can probably talk to a few venue owners if folks would rather have the GTG in a restaurant/bar. I'm well liked by a few of the venue owners, and one in particular, so it is a viable option.

The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. PM me if you want some feedback on the ones I've organized and/or attended. You might look through some pics from the NW GTGs over the years to get an idea on the scale they can reach. If I owned a music store I wouldn't really want to have acoustic instruments hanging on the walls during one of these...

Color me interested. Corvallis isn't too far for me, I have daughter who lives there so I could include it in a family visit.

I'm bumpin' this zombie... Count my in! I attended the one Charlie had in Hood River pictured above. And I would love to do another to see some of the new stuff coming out like a Monique and some of the new Berg cabs due out any day like the new ceramics 2x12 and the nearly ready NV115.
One thing to remember is if you do it in a bar be very sure the owner/ bar help know you are going to be making a bunch of noise if they are open. When we did one in Vancouver a while back the bartender shut us down early due to the regulars complaints.

We have a great new potential venue out here if enough people are game for the drive out to the Gorge again. Big stage, great acoustics, no potential customer conflicts, and super-cool owners. I'd love to see another one happen in Portland or the Valley somewhere too though.

Pretty new to the forum. Is the get together to test gear, or have everyone jam? Either way, I could be in too

Bumpin' to subscribe and express interest. Tiny: mostly it's to check each other's gear out. My fave is when the local builders come out. The picture in this thread has me in the Hawaiian shirt checking out one.

Charlie; Hood River is never too far to hoist one with you and Mal and talk low end stuff.

I'll probably be down Portland/Gorge ways a couple times this summer, if this happens I'd probably be down for it.

I'd be down as long as it's NOT at that bar in Vancouver! Those people sucked!

North, you want to go North for one.....

I'd love to make it down there for one as well. My have to bring my snowboard and hit up Timberline the same week-end.

I'll keep an eye on this to see if I have any gig conflicts..

Since the last time we got together I got a 62 P-bass body (Jazz neck) restored with a Shell Pink Fin and a Audere 4 band Pre. and a 71 Fender PB with an original A (Jazz) neck that is light and sweet! Also have AE 2x12 and AE112 Berg cabs. Also a Minnieweather 5 st. fretted bass. Also a Shuttlemax 12.0 not that new but still pretty cool.
