As far as booze, the River City is a full service bar, has half a dozen microbrews on tap, and maybe if we're lucky I can get the Jessica Alba lookalike bartender to work that shift. They have pretty good food there too, especially the ribs. |

The Hood River Inn is on the water, one exit away from the venue. It's kind of a typical Best Western deal, and it looks like they have a little bit cheaper rate than the HR Hotel.
On the other side of the river, there's the Bingen School Inn. It's a hostel style setup, with dormers and private rooms. Great people, full kitchen available to use, and a good probability of a special Talkbass rate if I ask for one. That's a 7 minute drive from the venue.
If any of you are bringing your spouse and want to score style points, you could consider the Skamania Lodge or the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort, both of which are about half an hour to the west and on the Washington side of the river.
You can find more by going to www.gorge.net, or by creative Google action. There are some very nice B&Bs around the Gorge as well.

If people are coming in on Saturday night, we can look at doing a Talkbass dinner/hang. There's at least one good band playing in town that night too -- Flowmotion at the River City Saloon.

Kerri just bought me a pedal board so I guess I'll bring that with my pedal on it.
I also won't be bringing me Alembic or Modulus unless someone def. wants to try those out.
If BroNewt is bringing his nv610 then I'll only bring my ht322 cab unless we need two nv610s there. Just let me know and I'll bring them though.

Question, the Top post says 1-5 then a jam what's up with that? is it a house band thing or is a drummer and what ever harmony provider showing up for us to play with?
As far as gear. I might be going through some buying selling things. So I have some gear that I might move right around the time of this GTG.I have a couple of things in the closet I might bring but I have some stupid Angel/Devil Stuff going on in my head.
I can definitely bring
Amps:
Bergantino IP112+Ex12
Ampeg SVP-CL
Peavey Classic 400
Bergantino 425
Basses:
Fodera Lincoln Goines Model(needs a little love, forgive my neglect)
Sadowsky Tokyo 5 string/W Norstrand humcanselling singles. Unless a Alleva Coppolo I have on order come due because I will be moving this to make room, which case I will bring that.
Oh yah.. I got a A/B/C box, that seems important.
I would really appreciate anyone bothering to bring duplicate NV series cabs so I can hear different heads back to back. also we can set multiples.
Aj

Actually I don't really mind moving that cab. I'll make room for it. I'm actually thinking of selling my Alembic now and getting a tube head with the money. I'm damned curious to hear that Peavey classic 400 of yours.

| | Hard rockin' stay-at-home dad | | Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: The soggy state of Oregon | | I'd like to hear the Sadowsky with the big Nordy singles if you still have it by then, Andrew.
I'm having "tone issues" with my NYC Sadowsky Jazz (I love the way my Metro UV70 sounds, but not the way the NYC sounds), and am trying to figure out whether I should just sell it or monkey around with other pickups trying to find its voice.

He's very accustomed to playing with anything from just a bass player to a big jazz band. Maybe Damian will take a turn on drums -- I hear he's smokin'!
The guitarist I invited plays classic rock, gypsy jazz, swing, Motown, fusion, old school country, and a lot more. He knows the words to hundreds of classic rock and country tunes too. This is his primary band right now: Django's Cadillac. Their bass player will probably come too, and I'll suggest he also bring his lap steel, or some form of guitar at least.
I can bring my guitar synth and old Fender tube amp, and I'd guess at least a few of you might also take a stab at guitar for a tune or two? Anyhow, it can be whatever you guys want to make it. I could invite in a whole house band if you want me to, but I'm sure the club's OK with a free for all. |
