About time it's a weekend when I have a sitter and it's not in Boring! I'll most likely be out too... |

I'll coordinate with PW. Lisa will probably make the trip as well if there's a Thai restaurant involved!
BTW - I'm still looking for a guitar player with some vocals for a cover band. Drums, Bass & Diva (she's OK, really!) in place ... this would be a minimum rehersal, maximal profit sort o' gig ... any leads, please send 'em my way... ( mbrown1@gorge.net).

I'm stoked to see some friendly faces and watch some of my TB brethren play some songs. I'm curious how I'm going to play Mustang Sally this week.
So, who's coming, and which night? www.myspace.com/saturdaynightorphans

I was playing it last night and just digging the fool out of the tone.
So it looks strange. Big deal. |

Hopefully things will turn around to where I can make the trip. Have read a lot of all your posts and look forward to learning a thing or two. Have to admit...you're all gonna intimidate the ____ outta me w/ the "purist" gear...either that or you're gonna make me turn over a new leaf!

| | Registered User | | | | Just got home from the friday night gig. It was a good turnout for the place and the waitstaff didn't harp on us to turn down this night. A fun night when that doesn't happen! We hadn't played together for a few weeks so there were a few rough spots. Just promise not to count my clams tomorrow night. Nothing like the pressure of your bass playing peers!
I look forward to seeing and hearing you crazy mofos tomorrow night! Should be quite the time.
Come July I'll be moving back to Boston with the wife, so they'll be looking for a bass player right before then. The practice schedule is very tame once everything gets settled it. Also, would anybody care to fill in on a weekend gig for me in Boring on the 21st and 22nd in March? I want to go visit my dad in California before we move to Boston. Its a cool little bar with a very friendly and appreciative wait staff. The pay for the gig is $50 a night = $100 for the weekend. Its not a whole lot, but its a fun place. I could also throw in some extra funds to get someone motivated to play and to free up my weekend to visit family.
See y'all tomorrow night, errr...I guess that's later tonight actually.

Earlier in the week I was leaning toward the Steinberger, which as Eric put it "would cause conversation" among a group of fellow bass players (not sure if that's good or not). Last night I had settled on my Sadowsky PJ, which plays so well and is really versatile.
Then my bridge came today for my "Super-Squier" project bass, and it totally kicks ass now that it's finished.
Nice dilemma to have, I guess. Anyone have any preferences? Steinberger? Sadowsky? Reverend? Super-Squier? |
