STL Area GTG?

Sign in to disble this ad
If this is tacky, let me know and I will drop it. I was by my favorite local dealer today in Edwardsville, IL., and I found out that they are going to be Lakland dealers. This would make them the only Lakland dealers in Metro St. Louis. I don't know when the basses are coming, but I suggested that it may be a good excuse to put together another GTG. I know most of us are very familiar with Lakland already, but a store launching a new line is as good an excuse as any for a GTG!

Let me know what you think.

That's cool. I'd get to see it (not play) before it left the store.

I'd be all up for another GTG. I'm inspired by all the crazy STL cats I know will show if they're not afraid to cross the river. I forget who half of us are from one year to the next. It would be a great reminder.

I'd love to check out some Lakland stuff. If there's any STL luthiers reading this/attending, I'd love to see some of the stuff you've built too.

I have heard that there is another store thinking of bringing in the skyline series in St.Louis. I dont know if they have totally decided on it yet. Got this from the horses mouth.

I'll talk to Mojo's today or tomorrow. They got three Skylines in yesterday: a 55-02; 44-02; Bob Glaub. The 44-02 is unreal! It may only weigh 6 lbs! I have never, ever played a bass that light in my life! The 55-02 is great as expected, and the Bob Glaub is one hell of a P-bass. I think some JO5s and and maybe a DJ4 or 5 is coming later.

Too damn bad I have to drop a load on my car.

I'm surprised that Chef hasn't chimed in yet though I guess there aren't too many basses he hasn't tried/owned

Perhaps he and I could ride up together?

I talked to the folks at Mojo's, and they say that late September, early October looks good for them.
